End of Year Outing – A new tradition!

For many Marin Academy alumni, VisionQuest is the ultimate end-of senior-year experience – a chance to mark and reflect on the transition from MA to what lies ahead.  However, in recent years, a variety of other end of year projects have been rolled out to offer non-VQers a similarly meaningful culminating experience.

This year I joined 25 seniors on the “End-of-Year Outing” – our plan:  one day of on campus prep, a day hike from MA to the top of Mt. Tam (surprisingly, only 9 miles, though much of that uphill), followed by a multi-day backpacking and camping trip covering 30 miles and 3 campgrounds in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore.

We all came back tired, dirty and ready for graduation.  Congratulations to the Class of 2012!  I look forward to being a part of your post-MA experience for many years to come!
